On July 31, 2025, Spokesperson and Deputy Minister for Public Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lee Jaewoong held a meeting and then a working dinner with Spokesperson and Director General of the Department of Press, Communication and Public Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China Mao Ning in Seoul.

The two sides exchanged views on diverse ways to cooperate in the field of press and public affairs such as  utilizing new media including social media networks, and to promote people-to-people exchanges in order to enhance the friendship between the peoples of their two countries.

The two sides agreed to work together to deliver a positive message on Korea-China relations, particularly in the lead-up to the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in late October.

Building on the momentum of the meeting between the Foreign Ministry Spokespersons of the two countries, which was resumed in nine years, the two sides agreed to further strengthen their cooperative relationship going forward.
